Yngleregistreringer av jerv i Norge i 2005

På landsbasis har det i år blitt dokumentert eller antatt 61 ynglinger av jerv i Norge. Dette er det høyeste antallet siden den landsdekkende overvåkingen startet på 1990-tallet (Landa m.fl. 1998, 2001, Brøseth & Andersen 2004). Sammenlignet med 2004 er dette en økning på 14 ynglinger på landsbasis. Ser vi på det nasjonale bestandsestimatet basert på minimum antall ynglinger siste tre år så er det en økning fra 264 dyr i 2004 til 330 i 2005. Generelt har det vært en bestandsøkning i nord. I Nord-Norge ble det i 2005 påvist det høyeste antallet ynglinger siden registreringene startet på 1990-tallet (43 ynglinger). Det er særlig Nord-Trøndelag (deler av region 6), Nordland (region 7) og Finnmark (deler av region 8) som har en økning i antall ynglinger siste året. Bestandsestimatene, basert på antall ynglinger i 2003-2005, for de tre nordligste regionen (region 6, 7 og 8) indikerer en bestandsøkning på 10-20 dyr i hver av disse regionene. Det ble registrert 18 ynglinger i Sør-Norge i år. Dette er omtrent det antallet man registrerte i Sør-Norge i 2003, og er en betydelig nedgang i forhold til toppåret i 2004 hvor det ble registrert 26 ynglinger. Bestandsestimatene, basert på antall ynglinger i 2003-2005, i region 1, 3 og 5 er stabile eller svakt økende.

A total of 61 wolverine reproductions were found in Norway in 2005. This is the highest number registered in a year since the monitoring of active wolverine dens started throughout the country in the beginning of the 1990s. This is an increase of 14 reproductions compared to 2004. The population estimate, based on the minimum number of reproductions the last three years, indicates an increase from 264 animals in 2004 to 330 animals in 2005. The northern parts of Norway has in general had a population increase and the number of reproductions is the highest number found is this area (43 reproductions) since the monitoring of active wolverine dens started in the early 1990s. Nord-Trøndelag (part of region 6), Nordland (region 7) and Finnmark (part of region 8) are the areas within this part of the country that have had an increase in the number of reproductions this last year. The population estimates based on the number of reproductions found in the three northern most regions (region 6, 7 and 8), compared with the population estimates from 2004, indicates a populations increase of 10-20 animals in each of these regions. A total of 18 reproductions were found in the southern parts of Norway and this is approximately the same as the number found in 2003, but clearly fewer than the 26 found in 2004. The population estimates based on the number of reproductions found in regions 1, 3 and 5 are stable or with a slight increase.
